Updates I’m Cautious About…
Aug 20, 2009 | No Comments | @andrewmarcecThree excellent productions have been linked to actual and potential reboots and remakes this week, some I’m okay with and others I’m not.

Poltergeist is up first on the remake train today. It’s been a rumored remake for a while, and has been scheduled as in “pre-production” mode for quite a while, however Shock Till You Drop reports that we have a release date. The newly released date is November 24, 2010 and the “House of Sand and Fog” director, Vadim Perelman, is attached to direct. No casting news as of yet.
Is this smart? Don’t they know about the curse? Will Craig T. Nelson be in it? I guess if they want to wash Poltergeist 2-tv series from the minds of citizens I won’t contest too much. All I want to see is more Craig T. Nelson!

The baddest Kaiju on the block is up for an American reboot. Hold your groans…we CAN’T have another Roland Emmerich disaster on our hands…can we? Bloody Disgusting reports that Legendary Pictures is rumored to be in early discussion.
Short and sweet, so long as we see a fucking badass Mothra I’m a happy camper.

After an incredibly successful four season run on sci-fi, a strait to dvd movie, a spin-off franchise, another movie (directed by Edward James Olmos), are we really craving yet MORE BSG? Apparently BSG is better than MSG because ANOTHER movie is reportedly in the works. According to Latino Review, Universal is working out a deal with Bryan Singer to have his produce/direct a film.
BSG, I love you, but DAMN slow down, enjoy your success and lets not fall victim to the “only even numbered Star Trek films rock” curse. So say we all?
What do you guys think? Are you excited for these upcoming projects, or does Hollywood need a bitch slap across the face?
