With the realization that almost all of the water in Soleas had been drained from the vat in town, four men take it upon themselves to venture out into the uncharted desert outside Soleas in hopes that they will be able to find a new water supply.

The town of Soleas plays the scapegoat game to try and overcome their fears of the earthquake that wrecked havoc on the town by accusing one of their own of murder. However, two unlikely people discover that there is a lot more to Soleas than they would have ever imagined, and one person finds out about a special trait that he thinks is the key to all the madness.

We are introduced to Soleas, a small farming community surrounded by desert and its inhabitants. Soleas has just experienced their first murder in over twenty years, and the town is shaken up over the whole occurrence. However, things are about to take a turn for the worse that could be more deadly than a single killer.
