With his second solo record “Leavetaking” now available on iTunes and in Barnes and Noble stores across the country, Peter Bradly Adams is sure to become quite successful in the music world. Formerly one half of the band “eastmountainsouth”, who was signed to Dreamworks records in 2002, Peter exhibits incredible talent and love for the music that he produces. At first hearing his song Los Angeles it brought to mind those incredibly moving scenes near the end of films where the characters have life changing epiphanies. These in turn help us relate and find a little piece of ourselves in all characters.
Peter’s soothing voice combined with the gentle mixture of guitar and piano hypnotizes the listener. It coaxes them into closing their eyes and watching the pulsating golden aura that is slowly enveloping their soul. The lyrics are simple, yet powerful, about always having a place where you belong, even if you fail. I think that we have all lived in a town that has greatly affected our lives. A town that, even though the world and situations change from day to day, the town is always a reassuring constant that we can rely on when things become overwhelming. Los Angeles allows us all to have our own personal epiphanies.
Peter’s style reminds me of that of artists like Josh Radin, The Carey Brothers, and Pete Yorn. I highly advise you all to purchase this album put it on your iPod, or portable device and let Peter’s music accentuate the beauty of what it is to be alive.
