Food Is Deadly

As I was educating myself on current events (because I like them, and I think they’re good) I stumbled across this article on Yahoo about red meat consumption. It was a very interesting article that “proved” what we’ve known all along, red meat will kill you. However, in this article they also proved, whether knowingly or not, that ALL meat will kill you.
People whose diets contained more white meat like chicken and fish had lower risks of death.
All I could think was that this article was written by a veggitarian, and they wanted to scare people into their lifestyle as well.
Another thing that crossed my mind while reading the article and scouring other articles on Yahoo is that there are a TON of articles about food/dieting/excercise. After reading all those headlines I just felt like the biggest fat person on the planet, and I am losing weight!
What makes us keep going back and revisiting Yahoo to read these articles that are, in all actuality, common sense? You shouldn’t have to read an article to know if you eat too many cheeseburgers you might not be able to see your winkie over your humongo gut, or be able to climb stairs very easily.
Am I saying that we should stop eating cheeseburgers? Hell no! I love those things, but maybe limit yourself to one every other week. Maybe once we surface from the rock we hid under when our parents said “go get a real job now” will we learn something.
Was there a central point to this? No, I just felt like ranting.
