Celluloid Cache: Cult Nazi Films
Aug 21, 2009 | No Comments
With Inglorious Basterds releasing today I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some other Nazi exploitation films that most people probably haven’t heard of. Obviously to fit with what Tarantino was going for in this film I’m going to be sticking with Nazi films of the more cult genre. I think that Schindler’s List and Downfall won’t be appearing.
Ilsa She Wolf Of The SS:

Taking place in a concentration camp, Ilsa is the cruel overseer of the camp. Performing odd, and true, experiments of the Jewish and America GI prisoners. The experiments that occupy her every waking moment is finding a woman able to withstand and amount of pain in order to present her to Hitler. Also, she puts herself right in the middle of her second experiment…finding a man among the prisoners that is able to fully fulfill her every sexual need. Yes, that’s right, this is camp at it’s finest.
Clip (and I cannot stress this enough NSFW!!):
The Inglorious Bastards:

Cult favorites Fred Williamson (BLACK CAESER) and Bo Svenson (WALKING STAR) star in this Italian knock-off of THE DIRTY DOZEN. Arrested for crimes against the army, five World War II vets escape when their prison convoy is attacked by the Germans. Caught behind enemy lines, and not looking forward to serving prison sentences in their own countries, they decide to fight their way to neutral Switzerland.

Dod Sno:

Eight medical students on a ski trip to Norway discover that Hitler’s horrors live on when they come face to face with a battalion of undead Nazi soldiers intent on devouring anyone unfortunate enough to wander into the remote mountains where they were once sent to die.

And my personal favorite…
Those are just a few of the oh so many, many more out there. What am I missing? What are you favorites?
